Swatches + Review - MAC Marilyn Monroe The Perfect Cheek Blush (Limited Edition)
Hey beauties! As some of you may know, my MBA classes have been consuming my life. I'm so sorry for the late review, but I guess it's better late than never, right? Also, I'm aware that the MAC Marilyn Monroe collection has sold out. I would still like to review it because MAC loves to repromote products and you may be able to find it at a CCO, if you're lucky. Also, I'm sure there are some readers out there who would enjoy seeing my swatches just for fun (especially when compared to another blusher), even if they can't get their hands on it anymore. ^_^
When I saw the promo pictures, I wasn't attracted to the packaging at all because it looked too plain. It actually looks a little bit better in person, but it's nothing to go crazy about. (My favorite limited edition packaging from MAC is still the Give Me Liberty of London collection.)
The Perfect Cheek is a mauvey pink shade with a matte finish. When worn on my NC35/37 skin tone, it pulls more pink and doesn't look as flattering as Prim & Proper, which is a mauvey rosy nude that looks more peachy when compared to the The Perfect Cheek.
The Perfect Cheek has regular pigmentation (not sheer or too pigmented) and applies evenly with a standard blush brush, such as the Studio Gear #13 (full review) or the Japonesque Professional blush brush (mini review). Even though it has a matte finish, it doesn't leave the skin looking chalky or powdery. As for the wear time, it lasts at least 8 hours without fading when worn over liquid foundation + setting powder.

Bottom Line: Those with a lighter skin tone may find The Perfect Cheek to be flattering; however, I find peachy blushers to compliment my warm, medium complexion better. The Marilyn Monroe blusher is more of a collector's piece for me.
Note: The MAC Powder Blush in The Perfect Cheek contains 6g/0.21oz. It is limited edition and retails for $22 at Nordstrom.

Too Faced also recently launched a new lighter shade of their popular Chocolate Soleil Bronzer called Milk Chocolate. The original Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is the best matte bronzer that I've tried for my NC35/37 skin tone. It doesn't make my face oompa loompa orange and it doesn't contain any shimmers. However, if you found the original shade to be too dark or muddy, then you should give Milk Chocolate Soleil a try instead.
